Abigail Gallery starts a new exhibition series with the name „Foreign Contemporary Masters”. The main aim of this enterprise is to familiarize the Hungarian audience and collectors with the international contemporary art and to give an interesting picture of the artists from the foreign art scene through the exhibitions and with the help of a website, programs and lectures supporting them.
As the first stage of this series the „Parisien Cube” tries to introduce the great international masters of the geometric abstraction.
The artists of the exhibitions are not that known in Hungary but all of them are established and popular painters on an international level. All but one or two artists( Helen Vergouwen and Gaël Bourmaud who were born after 1960) every painter belongs to an older, appreciated, succesful generation. Their pieces of art can be found in many of the world's prestigious public and private collections. Abigail Gallery's exhibition that opens in February is very exclusive since lot from
the exposed artists have never had an exhibition in Hungary. „Parisien Cube” that features at least 3 art works -60 pieces all together- from every painter augurs a very rich and diverse experience. The exposed artists create their works in various styles: besides the strict, mathematically based abstraction, the more colorful, softer, playful style can be found too. The paintes' older and fresh works will be exposed too so the visitors could get a broader picture about the artists' ouevre.
The connection between the exhibitors from all around the world(Uruguay, Argentine, Japan, Belgium, Italy, France etc.) is that all of them live, work in Paris and are obsessed with geometric forms and lore. Many of the artists(Bolivar, Michel Jouët, Mitsouko Mori) are regular participants of the prestigous Salon des Réalités Nouvelles which is a dedicated follower of abstract art since 1946.
The MADI art movement represents itself with many of its associates: besides one of the group's founders, the Uruguayan Carmelo Arden Quin, Giancarlo Caporicci, Mitsouko Mori will participate with several works. The two Argentinian artists Luis Tomasello and Horacio Garcia- Rossi are well known representatives of op art and kinetic art. The swedish Thorsten Riddel is one of the pioneers in computer art with his compositions which are based on complex mathematical procedures. The paintings of Judith Nem's deal with the permutation principles' limitless possibilities. Rober Saint Cricq's assemblages which are made of used material lead the spectator into a more poetic and a bit humorous world.
During the months before the vernissage our website is constantly flaring with news and other materials regarding the exhibiting artists
